    • Managing Principal
Mitch has been in the financial advisory business for over 40 years. He started his career at a regional firm named J.B Hanauer & Company (eventually taken over by RBC), where he served as a Financial Advisor and as a group leader, managing other Financial Advisors. After completing his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification, he developed and managed the J.B. Hanauer financial planning department and helped develop and lead the asset management subsidiary of the firm. Additionally, he developed a suite of recommended portfolios that served as a guide for approximately 200 other Financial Advisors.

After a storied career at J.B. Hanauer, Mitch joined UBS Wealth Management as a Senior Vice President of Investments in order to focus exclusively on his own clientele of high-net-worth clients. Finally, Mitch joined Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network in order to run his own office as an independent Financial Advisor. He formed The Dorfman Wealth Management Group with his son, Adam, where the client’s needs and goals continue to be first and foremost while forming and implementing strategies.

Mitch holds an MBA degree from The Fox School of Business at Temple University in Philadelphia. He earned his BS degree in biology from the Eberly College of Science at Penn State University. While at Penn State, he competed as a varsity member of the Penn State University fencing team. He has received the New Jersey Five Star Professional Wealth Management Award annually since 2015. His securities licenses include FINRA series 7, 63, 65, 24, and MSRB 53 registrations. He also holds a life insurance license for the states of Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Mitch resides in Randolph, New Jersey with his wife, Barbara. They have two adult sons; Adam, who is Mitch’s business partner and Zachary, who is a team member in the U.S. Navy Special Operations Command. Mitch volunteers his time as a fencing coach at Randolph High School and still actively competes in fencing at a national level. He also enjoys skiing and mountain biking.

      • Financial Advisor
Adam was raised to be financially engaged after following the example set by his father and business partner, Mitch. In anticipation of entering the financial advisory business, he attended the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst. After graduating with his BBA, Adam continued to hone his financial advisory skills at Northwestern Mutual and the Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Advisor Training Program. In 2014, Adam joined Mitch in practice at the Dorfman Wealth Management Group, which is affiliated with Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network.

Adam holds the CIMA® certification, administered by the Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with Yale University School of Management.

Adam always strives to put the client’s needs and circumstances above all else. He espouses the group's process that is focused on gaining the clearest possible understanding of each client’s unique financial situation before any strategies are outlined. Further, he maintains an open and responsive line of communication with his clients. He holds the FINRA series 7 and 66 registrations and holds life and health insurance licenses for the state of New Jersey.

Outside of work, Adam has many interests that include skiing (where he has served as former instructor) and training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (where he holds a Renzo Gracie Black Belt). He also helps coach the Randolph High School fencing team with his dad.
